Call for Candidates (Co-)Editor(s)-in-Chief Journal of International Economic Law (JIEL)
This is from the JIEL:
The 5-year term of the current Co-Editors-in-Chief of JIEL is ending. We have been charged to facilitate the process of electing the next Editor or Co-Editors-in-Chief.
JIEL is the pre-eminent journal in the field of international economic law, published by Oxford University Press (OUP).
We hope to find a new team or individual to continue the excellent work done by the current Co-Editors-in-Chief, Kathleen Claussen, Sergio Puig and Michael Waibel.
We will be presenting candidates to the JIEL boards for feedback and make a recommendation to OUP by the end of the year.
Consideration will be given to sole applicants and to persons jointly proposing themselves as Co-Editors-in-Chief. We also welcome nominations of others, which we would then follow up on by contacting that person or persons. That said, given the work load involved, we foresee that as was the case for the last two terms, a team of two or three Co-Editors-in-Chief will likely be appointed.
The position of Editor-in-Chief is not remunerated. However, to date, OUP has provided a yearly stipend to appoint an editorial assistant. In addition, a budget has been made available to organize an annual meeting of the JIEL boards.
If you are interested in being considered, please submit your CV and a statement of interest to Joost Pauwelyn, at joost.pauwelyn@graduateinstitute.ch, by 10 November 2025.
Kathleen, Sergio and Michael are available to speak with anyone who is interested to shed more light on what the position entails. We as the committee are also available to answer any questions that you may have.
