You may have heard about the "drop in audio" craze going on right now. The Clubhouse app was the first, and Twitter got in on the action with Spaces. The basic idea is that it's sort of like a call-in radio show, with a couple hosts kicking off the chat, and then listeners can weigh in when they request to speak and the hosts give them the microphone. This seemed like an interesting idea, so Inu and I are going to give both a try this week, talking about "What to expect from trade policy in the Biden administration." We'll be on Clubhouse on Wednesday May 5 at 9 pm ET (that's Thursday May 6, 3 am CET and 10 am in Tokyo); and we’ll be on Spaces on Thursday May 6 at 2 pm ET (that's Thursday at 8 pm CET, and Friday at 3 am in Tokyo).
The bad news is that both platforms are still sort of in beta, with Clubhouse only available on Apple products (and requiring an invitation to join) and the ability to start a Space only available to some Twitter users at the moment, although I think anyone can join a Space (look for the purple bubble at the top of your home timeline, where you see Fleets). If you have access to either one, please drop by and chat with us!
