This is from Chantal Thomas:
This is a late-breaking notice, but for those of you in the DC area, please come to the lunchtime discussion, this coming Monday October 21, of "World Trade and Investment Law Reimagined: A Progressive Agenda for an Inclusive Globalization," just out with Anthem Press (Alvaro Santos, Chantal Thomas, and Dave Trubek, eds.).
The discussion will take place at Georgetown Law Center, Gewirtz Student Center (12th floor), 120 F Street NW, from 12:30-2:15. Commentary on the book will be provided by Kathleen Claussen (University of Miami Law School), Simon Lester (Cato Institute), and Todd Tucker (Roosevelt Institute). Responses will be provided by two of the book’s editors, Alvaro Santos (Georgetown Law Center) and Chantal Thomas (Cornell Law School). Lunch will be provided.
For more information please contact Alvaro Santos ([email protected]) or Chantal Thomas ([email protected]).
More details here. You'll notice that I am one of the commentators. I will be making the case to the progressives in the room that additional constraints on protectionism should be a key part of a progressive agenda for a more inclusive globalization. We'll see how it goes.
