The Journal of International Economic Law is seeking applications for the position of an Editorial Assistant. This position is half-time and normally for one year, but it has been extended in the past and we are flexible in this respect. Individuals who have undertaken this important role have usually pursued their own research, or performed the role in conjunction with other professional tasks or work towards a Ph.D. degree. Indeed, we are not rigid about these formats.
Also, the JIEL Editorial Office is in the midst of finalizing an additional freelancer for JIEL to carry out most of the administrative tasks that so far were performed by the Editorial Assistant. This means that the Editorial Assistant will be able to focus more on substantive inputs and reviews, and should be a position that is attractive also to slightly more advanced or senior professionals in the field as compared to those who have held the post in the past. This will probably also lead us to rename the title of the position to better reflect the more substantive responsibilities it comes with. Compensation is a lump sum of 32'000 US$ per year.
We would appreciate it if you could make a recommendation or draw attention to this position to any outstanding student or professional with exceptionally good English writing and comprehension abilities, and knowledge and background in international economic law subjects, particularly international trade/WTO law, but also, if possible, investment law and financial regulation or tax. A letter of inquiry or application (with references) including a CV can be sent directly to JIEL’s e-mail address: [email protected].
