Passing of John D. Greenwald

Sadly, I take note of the passing of John Greenwald on September 1 after a short illness.  John was one of the world's leading experts on trade remedies and US trade law and was perhaps the finest and most likable  trade lawyer in private practice in Washington, DC.  He is also known for his U.S. government service early in his career when he was appointed as Deputy General Counsel of USTR during the Tokyo Round and as the first head of Import Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce in the early 1980s. At age 70, he enjoyed a very active legal practice as a partner at Cassidy Levy Kent in Washington.  John was respected by everyone in the trade community and was a mentor to many young trade lawyers.
