Wasn't there a way to phrase this so it doesn't seem like such a blatant GATT Article III:4 violation?Embattled President Nicolas Sarkozy's industry minister, Christian Estrosi, said he's taking action next month because major companies are "not behaving very well" in the face of chronically high unemployment.
"I will set up a new monitoring agency for French products to ensure . . . a percentage of the components for products that are put together here are made in France," he said.
"What is important is the number of components, to ensure that the large majority come from French suppliers. All this will lead me to think about a law on interindustrial relations, to better protect our suppliers."
