Professorship in European and International Economic Law (100%, open rank)
The Department of Economic Law at the University of Bern is seeking to fill the position of a professor of European and International Economic Law as of the fall semester 2015 (to succeed Prof. Dr. Thomas Cottier).
JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS: The core duties of the professor consist of furthering the general foundations of European law (including the legal relations between Switzerland and the European Union) and international economic law (in particular WTO law), of managing the Institute for European and International Economic Law, and of representing the aforementioned fields in research and teaching in coordination with the other institutes within the Department of Economic Law; cooperation with the World Trade Institute (WTI) in the field of international trade law is strived for.
The professorship can be structured as a tenured position (Ordinariat or Extraordinariat) or as an assistant professorship with tenure track; in each case, a completed habilitation or an equivalent academic qualification as well as extraordinary academic performance and a stay of at least one year at another, preferably foreign, university or a multi-year, highly qualified professional experience are required. The successful candidate should start on 1 August 2015.
