Serves as the Director of Trade Research responsible for developing plans and strategies in support of litigation before the World Trade Organization (WTO) and in support of international negotiations.
- Develops positions and strategies for consultations and negotiations with foreign governments on trade issues. Works with attorneys and senior officials to understand and identify research needs. Monitors, researches, analyzes, and prepares papers in support of litigation or regarding various issues, including industrial sectors, legal and regulatory regimes, market access and competitive issues in foreign markets.
- Obtains, translates, and catalogs foreign language documents for use in legal proceedings and/or negotiations with governments and industries. Works with foreign language source material (especially foreign language legal documents), translators, and translation processes.
- Plans, conducts, and/or leads others in conducting economic and other analytical studies and developing reports and recommendations in support of litigation or other legal disputes and in support of negotiation and administration of trade agreements with foreign governments.
