This position is located in Market Access & Compliance, NAFTA Secretariat office. The incumbent will serve as the U.S. Secretariat and will lead a team responsible for coordinating with both the Mexican and Canadian sections to carry out the terms of the NAFTA agreement....
The NAFTA Secretariat is responsible for overseeing the impartial administration of the dispute settlement provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement. The Secretariat is accountable to the NAFTA Free Trade Commission, which comprises the ministers responsible for international trade in the three NAFTA partner countries. The Secretariat shall be an expert in international trade policy and serve on both inter-agency and inter-government work groups to enhance and streamline the process. S/he will be responsible for briefing senior officials on the trade agreement. S/he will also be responsible for managing the office, overseeing the budget and disbursement of funds.
