The full program of the ASIL International Economic Law Interest Group, November 9th-12th, at the historic Mt. Washington Resort at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, is now online. This year the conference theme is "IEL: the state and future of the discipline", and it is organized around three pillars: research, practice and teaching. As if in partial response to Andrew Guzman's thought-provoking post below, the program includes presentations on diverse subjects such as investment arbitration, international financial law, corporate social responsibility, and specific questions relating to the OECD, IMF and World Bank - all in addition to many trade-related issues. Each panel will be devoted to one of the pillars of the field, and will then be followed by a workshop that will allow for more open discussion. Another session will be devoted to discussing ideas for establishing a global IEL organization/society.
The program includes quite a few IELP bloggers and hopefully many more contributors and readers will attend. Registration for the conference is through ASIL Services.
Congratulations to the group Co-chairs, Colin Picker (UMKC) and Isabella Bunn (Oxford) for putting together the program and conference.
